Arrived at Maldives- Day 1

Finally!! Our long awaited honeymoon is here! We painstakingly waited for this day to come and we were soooooooooooooo excited! We were there for 4 days 3 nights and the weather at Maldives was spectacular. We were blessed with plenty of sunshine and scattered showers to cool the day.

Our flight was due to departure at 8.45pm and we have plenty of time to walk around KLIA and had our dinner there.

Waiting to board the flight!

After 4 hours of flying, we've finally arrived at Ibrahim Naser International Airport at Male, Maldives at 9.55pm local time. It was 12.55am in Malaysia.

Hmmm... Not an impressive airport

Woohoo!

Patiently waiting for our luggage

After clearing customs, we were greeted with our transit hotel representative and waited for our transport.

Airport's exterior

It's so eerily quiet at night

The journey to our transit hotel, Hulhumale Inn only took about 10 minutes and we were told that the hotel is built on a reclaimed land which is roughly about 12 years old. The hotel itself is only 2 years old. I couldn't take any pictures there at night because it was pitch black dark there.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by friendly hotel staffs and we were served with complimentary drinks.

Apple juice

After we've settled airport transfer fee and registration, we were lead upstairs to our deluxe room. They decorated our bed with bougainvillea flowers which we took some time to clean up so we could sleep on it. The room was clean and it was pretty basic. Toilet was clean too.

After we've settled down, it was already 12am local time, which translated to our time, 3am.
All we wanted to do was get enough of sleep and get up early the next day as we will be going back to the airport to get to our island resort at 830am.

Yay!!! Can't wait for tomorrow to come

I couldn't sleep well that night due to jetlag and the bed was uncomfortable.

The very next day, we woke up at 6am (9am Malaysian time) and got ourselves ready for breakfast at the highest floor of the hotel

Seaplane is flying above us every 5 mins

Since breakfast was not ready, we took a stroll around the area.

Our humble transit hotel, Hulhumale Inn.

Quite and peaceful

Spotted a unique motor

Hammocks

The beach here is beautiful. It was pretty sunny and the water is not that clear yet. The best time to enjoy the beauty of the sea is at 1030am-2pm (which we learnt from our island resort).

After satisfied taking pictures, we headed back to our hotel for breakfast

Toasted bread, capatti, egg and fried tuna with coconut

Sweetened papaya as dessert

After eating, we went back to our rooms and did some final packing and we gathered at the lobby for our taxi

The reception

Majestic chairs for guests

The journey to airport during daytime was amazing! You can practically see turquoise sea everywhere! So pretty!

At the airport, the staff directed us to our island resort counter and get ourselves registered.
We were early by an hour and we were told to wait awhile for resort's speedboat to arrive.

While waiting, I went out to take some pics.
Check out the jetty.

The water at jetty was insanely beautiful

What was in store for us at our island resort is even more spectacular.
Will share more in the next post.
