We rolled into this place purely by accident... There's this young man standing near Bread History was distributing flyers and me being nice, helped him off his load... I don't usually accept flyers because it'll end up in the trash... What attracted me to Tokyo Kitchen was, this...
Yup! Too good to be true! |
We were very skeptical and we kept reasoning to ourselves whether this is a tactic to lure us into the restaurant... We end up going anyway to see if the deal is real or not...
This place was located on the 4th floor next to The Chicken Rice shop and there are a few restaurants there as well... I was surprised with its entrance... Almost similar to Watami at Paradigm Mall and a lil bit like Muji Store.... Once I saw the place and the menu, I was SOLD!!!
Cantik!! |
Really cute |
Very vintage! |
Takeaway corner at the side |
The entrance is very Japanese-like too...
Charming entrance! The stones on the pathway is a bit too rocky for me, though |
The ambiance of the place is very relaxing...
We were lead to sit near the paper lanterns |
Lousy poster ruined the atmosphere |
Most of the interior is made of wood |
Just love their design so much!! |
Here's what we came for... FOOD!!
First up, we ordered green tea.. A staple drink for any Japanese Restaurant, duh!
Premium Green Tea, RM4.80 |
I ordered cold dish called, Assorted Sashimi Mini Don
1cm thick white fish, salmon, tuna, octopus and tamago are placed on top of white rice mixed with roasted sesame... Refreshing indeed!
Assorted Sashimi Mini Don, RM19.80 comes together with miso soup |
Hubby ordered Omelette Rice with Curry...
It comprises tomato chicken fried rice, egg, green beans, mushrooms and awesome Japanese curry... This dish is to die for!!! The curry is very flavourful and the fried tomato rice is cooked to perfection!! Recommended to try this out yourself!!
Omelette Rice with Curry, RM18.80 |
We also ordered Saba Shioyaki, a grilled Mackerel with salt as side dish...
This was okay but it'll be great if they could remove bones from this fish... I still feel grilled Mackerel from Sushi Zanmai is the best... Crispy, boneless and the fish's texture is just right...
Saba Shioyaki, RM14.90 |
Finally, we ended the meal with dessert!!
We chose Cucumber Ice Cream...
Yup, CUCUMBER... Very unique indeed... The ice cream is milky with a hint of cucumber... I really enjoyed this dessert but too bad they only gave us one scoop of this... It's not too sweet and I love how milky it tasted... The cucumber in the ice cream is really refreshing and I just can't get enough of it...
Cucumber Ice Cream, RM6.80 |
Thank goodness that I accepted that flyer... Else, we wouldn't have enjoyed our meal here!! The staffs were attentive and make sure our green tea pot is always filled... They are friendly too and it made us feel welcomed... Here are the addresses to Tokyo Kitchen to those who are keen to visit this place...
