Uncle Jang's Dak Galbi

I've been itching to visit Uncle Jang at Ampang to try their special, Dak Galbi~

Here's a snippet of wikipedia's definition of Dak Galbi:

Dak galbi, also romanized dalk galbi, is a popular South Korean dish generally made by stir-frying marinated diced chicken in a gochujang (chili pepper paste) based sauce, and sliced cabbage, sweet potato, scallions, onions and tteok (rice cake) together on a hot plate. It is a local specialty food for the city of Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, where dak galbi originates. Because of its origin, the dish is also called Chuncheon dak galbi

It was located at Korean town in KL and it's surprising that the area near the restaurant are pretty much deserted on Sunday... Just like a ghost town... Scary... =_=

We were the first customer of the evening and we are welcomed with side dishes:

There's only limited stuffs to order from Uncle Jang... Dak Galbi set and a few side dishes to go along with it.... And it's compulsory to order minimum of 2 sets.... =_=

There are 2 flavours to choose from... Normal, if you are a first timer like me, and Spicy, if you think you can handle the spiciness... The food portion is really big... When the food came, we were worried if we are able to finished it... The set comprises sweet potato, rice cakes, cabbages, spring onion, marinated chicken and korean hot sauce... I've also ordered ramen to be added into dak galbi...

Don't worry about overcooking it... It will be taken care of by the waiter...
Just sit back and enjoy the show

So... While waiting for the food to cook....

We take pictures la.... :D

After finished taking photos...
We waited for about 15 minutes or so...

And.... Here it is!!!

Tada!!

This is how it look like when it's ready for us to dig in!!!!
The hot sauce really makes it look appetizing, huh!!

The ramen we ordered was added in last minute before serving... and OMG, it tastes soooooooooooo gooooooooood...  Adding ramen was an excellent choice!!!
Thanks to the food bloggers out there that recommends it...

A little bit of lettuce + kimchee + garlic + ramen + chicken...

Oh!! Heaven!!

Overall, the food was ok laaa... I wish it's a bit saltier and it would be just perfect!!
Mind you, I like salty food... :)

Total bill was Rm44 and the best thing is.... it's tax free!!
