Strawberry Daifuku

I made Strawberry Daifuku last Sunday and I was soooooo excited to try it out myself!!! I love sticky mochi-like desserts like "Hoong Ku", "Luo Mai Chii", "Muah Chee" and glutinous rice ball (tong yuen)... Ever since I watched the how-to video from cookingwithdog, I've been wanting to do it... So yeah! I made it!!!

The whole process took about 4 hours to complete... Cookingwithdog made it so easy!!! Darn... Most of the time is spent in wrapping the mochi onto the red bean ball... It's so hard!!! I wasted half of the glutinous rice flour just to get the texture right... Some of the daifuku is covered with too much potato starch making the mochi bitter... Heartbreaking... The only thing edible is the strawberry... I guess it's better to buy from dessert stall than attempting to make it myself... Too much cleaning and waiting to be done...

Naruko Night Eye Gellies

I have not 1, not 2 but 3 different night gellies... Honestly speaking, I don't know how long will it take me to finish them... Each pot contains 30ml of goodness (conventional eye creams/gel only comes with 15ml content)... The night gellies acts like an eye mask on top of applied any eye creams/gels you have... The acts as a sealent to give an extra boost to your poor eyes... These babes smells like heaven!!!!!!!!! I always look foward to night time so I can apply these on my eye area...

Princess #1: Narcissus Total Defense Night Eye Gelly (Purple)

This baby smells really nice and soothing... The smell is indescribable.. The gel itself has a semi translucent colour and it feels like jelly once applied, allowing a short eye massage... It absorbed quickly and my eyes feel very relaxing....

Princess #2: Magnolia Brightening and Firming Night Eye Gelly (White)

The princess smells like heaven!! I feel like I'm in a field filled with Magnolia flowers... No kidding!! It's fresh and sweet!!!! From the name itself, it helps in firming and I'm not really sure about whitening, though... I don't see much difference on the colour of my eye bag... The texture of the gel is the thickes among the 3 princesses...

Princess #3: Raw Job's Tears Supercritical CO2 Whitening Night Gelly (Red)

The name sound so bombastic, huh? Supercritical CO2... According to Naruko , the extraction of Raw Job's Tears essence was extracted using supercritical CO2... It is said that Raw Job's tears have higher concentration of amino acids, Vit B complex, Vitamin C and contains packed with wheat bran goodness... I do feel like my eyes feel well rested and improved my eye bag appearance... It smells very much like the Narcissus one with a very small hint of alcohol... The texture is the least viscous... I used it frequently when I feel like my eyes are dead tired... Highly recommended!

Lightning Food Trip to Ipoh

Once upon a boring Sunday, my friend rang me up to go for a food trip to Ipoh for its famous claypot chicken rice at Bercham... Being a food lover myself, I immediately say YES!! Duh!! I would have betrayed my tastebuds if I say NO!!!

We took off from Penang at 4pm++ and the journey to Ipoh took around 2 hours... It's a smooth buttery ride with no traffic jams even with drizzle... Thanks to the ever useful GPS too for making us reach the place safely...

Upon arriving K10 Claypot Chicken Rice Restaurant, we quickly ordered the claypot rice (not to be missed), some fried dumplings, tasty meat balls and some greens... The food was AMAZING!!! I'm not sure if it's because we are hungry or the food is really tasty... We waited for 1.5 hours for the claypot rice, mind you... We were starving!!!! The best thing on our table is definately the claypot rice... Duh!!! That's the reason we drove 2 hours to Ipoh for!!! The rice is not sticky and each rice is coated with yummy marinated sauce... You can taste the chicken in the rice... No kidding!!!!

After having an exciting journey with our tastebuds, we headed back to Penang and dreads the coming of Monday... Boohoo... On our journey home, we, girls are so silly and we came up with chinese desserts names for each and every one of us... We even started substituting foul languages with food names... Lol... We laugh till our stomach hurts!!! Here's what we've named ourselves...

My Day Skincare Routine

Bangun pagi, gosok gigi, pergi mandi, guna skincare... This is basically what everyone is doing (typically)... In this post I'm gonna share what I use everyday during day time... :D

So, first thing afta cleansing my face in the showers, I slap Narcissus Total Defense Moisturizing Dew onto my face... It doesn't smell alcoholic and the texture is like a watery lotion... Very soothing and it smells kinda nice~

Next, I apply Narcissus Total Defense Moisturizing Day Protector, which contains a milky white lotion like moisturizer which feels light and smooth to the touch...

Okay, applying these two isn't enough to hydrate my combi skin... A serum is recommended upon applying the lotions... The Narcissus Total Defense Fundamental Serum almost feel like water and it absorbs quickly into my skin... This serum is amazing because I'm seeing less breakouts on my skin with this applied dilligently... It's like it balance out the sebum production in my skin.. Great stuff!

Okay, almost there... the eyes... Working long hours in front of the computer is not eye bag friendly... Need to feed my eyes with some pamper and love for the day!! I used Majoram & Lavender Eye Cream... I don't see any difference what so ever but since I've bought it... I might as well use it till it's finished...

Finally, the final step... My favourite... Narcissus Total Defense Hydrating and Firming Gel... I love the scent and the texture of it... It's soooooooooooo nice!! My skin feels so dewy and moisturized all day long with minimal sebum in my T-zone... The gel in the glass pot looks like a swimming pool itself... My skin loves it!!! My laughing lines are reduced significantly too!!! Where have you been all my life???

Phew... That's not a long-winded post after all, huh??? All of these steps are done in 5 mins max... I would skip the serum and eye cream step when I'm in hurry though... :p

Nedeje's Mille Crepe

I went to Melaka on 1st of Sept 2011 with my baby and I must say, I love Melaka!!! It's beautiful and the people there is amazingly friendly!! What makes me love Melaka is the Mille Crepe!!! There's a famous shop near Dataran Palawan that sells the most delicious Mille Crepe and that's Nedeje!!

We ordered 2 Mille Crepes and it was love at first bite!!!

OMG!!! I love their Double Chocolate Mille Crepe a lot!! The chocolate just melts in your mouth like cream... OoooOOooh~

It's not too sweet too, just nice for my taste~

Next up is the Rum flavour, which is so-so for me... I don't really like desserts with rum... It tastes weird for me... Luckily my bf loves it... Else this baby will go to waste...

The cakes are a bit tad expensive but it's worth the money! Would like to try out other flavours sometime... Thanks to my bf for bring me there to try these babies! ^^

Naruko's Narcissus Skin Care

I have purchased the full range skin care for Naruko Narcissus Line a month ago after reading great reviews over the internet and since my current skincare is running low, I decided to try something new and would like to share it out...

Honestly, I was skeptical to try new skin cares as some are just total crap and waste of money... I've been using direct selling products since I was 19 years old... My first REAL skincare is from NuSkin (bought Combi skin cleanser and toner, and light moisturizer called enhancer) and the second one was from Elken (Hydra series)...

NuSkin works for me till I turned 24 years old... At this age, my skin started to change, I realize my skin is losing its moisture, using the light moisturizer causes excess sebum (due to insuffficient moisture) to build and caused major breakouts during the time of the month... I'm also experiencing small irritating white heads emerging all over my face, sagging skin, crow feet and line around my mouth... My bf made a comment on the sagging skin of mine and it's making me worried... :(

So, Elken came to my rescue!! An Elken direct seller came around to appoach me to try out their Hydra series skin care (consist of cleanser, toner and moisturizer) and upon trying it, my skin got a bit better than before! It's certainly more moiturizing than my last skin care... The problem is it's still not enough!! I still see fine lines around my laughing lines and I still see breakouts during my menstrual period... Not to mention, white heads still won't budge... Sad...

It took me 1 year to finished the product and I stumbled upon Naruko's Narcissus skin care line and courageously give it a try... I got the full range for RM289 for 9 products at Malaysia's Naruko website... I bought an extra day moisturizer due to it's cheap promo (I'm so glad I did)!! After a month using them, I feel my skin has come back to life!!! Fine lines are almost gone, white heads disappearing, acne went MIA during the time of the month... Impressive!! What makes this line more convincing is that my bf notices the difference too!! He said my skin got smoother and clearer!! Whee!! Jackpot!!!

Here's what I used on daily basis:

A lot, huh? I don't use them all at the same time, though... It's divided to day and night, actually... I love the pot gellies (yes, they are spelled this way) the most!!! The night eye gelly (the smallest pot) is great too!!! Love love love them!!! They smell good and my skin feels like heaven!! You can fell the *toing-ness* on you face!! I'm still thinking whether I should get other night gellies/eye cream/sleeping masks or not... They are cheap and most importantly, they work!! Will review them more in depth when I have the time :D

Korean Food

I've been bitten by Korean wave bug lately and I can't stop loving Korean food ever since I had my first at Seoul Garden... The restaurant that makes me fell head over heels with is Aza Aza Starvil, opposite Queensbay Mall... I love their Kimchee Stew and Ddukbokki the most!!! It got my tears flowing from the very first bite... *love*

Both dishes are common food in Korea... They are very easy to make (except for kimchee, which varies from one family to family or restaurants to restaurants)... I tried to mimic their dishes and.... Suprisingly, the kimchee stew tasted alright, but it is a lil' bit too spicy for my weak stomach... I tried to cook ddukbokki as well but it is too spicy too..!! Damn!!! Where did it go wrong?? I gotta thank Beyond Kimchee for all her wonderful recipes... She made it all so simple... Anyways, here are some pictures of my self made Korean food... :)

Long Gone But Not Out

I've been away so long till I've abandoned my poor blog... There is so much stuffs I wanna write here... My mind is like a viciously rippled water... So many things are going through my mind right now... Mostly is due to WORK... 6th of July 2011 marks my second year in Intel... Time really flies... I can't believe I'm still alive... Wait... Why the hell am I going and on about work... Tsk!!!

First up, I just wanna share my lovely dekstop's wallpaper... It is truly a beautiful shot from my Canon Ixus 95S... I can tell that my camera loves the green~
The dandellion shot was taken in Chicago... They are everywhere!!! The dandellions there are 10x larger than the ones we have in Malaysia... Urgh... Describing it makes me think of the lovely state of Chicago... I wanna go there again!!!

Ooooh~

I'm in such a good mood!!!! Recently I've been watching Korean game show and it really did uplift my mood... My current favourite is We Got Married (Khuntoria Couple)... It doesn't seem like a game show to me... It's more like a lovey dovey reality show... The couple consists of NichKhun (2pm) and Victoria (f(x))... The most beautiful couple ever!!!! They are freakin' real!!! I hope it's real... They will make a great loving couple in real life!! Check out their photoshoot... Awww..... I'm so in love with them!!!

By the way, I just installed a photo editing software called, Photoscape!!! Damn!!! Where have you been all my life??? It's the best thing ever created!!! I love photo collages... It has colour enhancement too!!! Neat, huh?

Long weekend... I love it!!! I haven't had proper rest since my trip from US... It's all about work and work and work... Will appreciate my holiday this week... I haven't been doing any scrapbooking and cardmaking recently... Gets me on my nerves!!!! Gotta utilize my tools... They are expensive, you know!!! Grrr....

Nightmare from US to Malaysia

United States is the a great place to visit for shopping... But, the weather sucks like hell... One thunderstorm left 5 of us stranded for 4days...

One fine day on 10th June... We've casually went to Ohare airport in Chicago to board a domestic flight to JFK airport in New York... Checked in.. Wait for boarding call... Looks normal... Then, nightmare starts... Our flight was delayed 1 hour... Fine... Still okay... Then, we board the plane after an hour... Unexpectedly, the goddamn pilot asked us to sit in the plane for another hour for airport clearance... Boom!!! Out of sudden, our flight was cancelled... Damn!! We don't have any instructions, confused and worried... I asked around for help and the only thing they asked me to do is find a re-booking center... WTH!!! Where the hell is that?? I thought it was a counter... Mana tau... It's a mini telephone booth, which auto-dialled to American Airlines customer service... After calling, the agent told me there's no flight to JFK, New York till the 18th June... We were sure to miss the Cathay flight to Penang no matter what happens!!! The best they can do is get us to Newark, New Jersey's airport at 630am on 11th June... Ohare airport is kind enough to give us a small bed with pillows and blanket... We can't sleep either... It was freezing cold!!!!! We took 3 blankets and it's still cold!!!!!

11th June... Fly to Newark... Smooth flight... Upon reaching, our luggages are DELAYED!!! Damn!!! We asked them to send it back to Penang, and crossing our fingers, hoping it will reached home safely, without M'sia customes snooping... Then, we took a very expensive cab to JFK... Bloody bloodsucker... Charged USD85+USD23+tips... KNS!!! Right after that, the REAL nightmare starts!!! There's no flight ticket back to Penang... Fully booked till 18th June... We are running out of money, credit card is reaching it's limit, we are lack of sleep, you name it... We kept bugging the ticketing agent till he booked 5 tickets out of JFK... We were so relieved and it was short-lived... The agent booked the WRONG tickets for us... Die lor... No tickets again!!!! The fella surrendered to his manager, Simon... Simon works his wonder and managed to get our names to the priority list for standby... We wait and wait and wait... Finally, only 2 tickets opened for us to HongKong ONLY... Only me and PuiYin managed to go home... My parents and my youngest sis bought 3 new tickets to fly back to Penang via China Airlines...

12th June... Reached HongKong safely... Upon arrival, we have 2 tickets confirmed to go back to Penang... Relieved!!! Baggage prob... We can't reached it... We trust Cathay to help us retrieve it and send it to the correct plane and they DID!!! Phew... The bloody plane had some technical problem and was delayed 30mins, got me worried sick... Technical problem doesn't sound so safe... Luckily, we got home safely... Me and my sis started to worry about the rest of my family... They just came back today!!! Whee!!! Everyone is safely home... :)

This is one hell trip... Me and Pui Yin took total of 6 flights, my parents and SukYin took a total of 8 flights, we all did not manage to bath for 3-4days... We have lack of sleep... We lose a lot of weight in less than a week, we spent extra RM10k for flight ticket, went through emotional roller coaster... What a holiday!!

Me and my friends had a gathering with my friends (complete group) at Overtime at Gurney Drive... It is a very expensive Lounge Bar and it seems like their non-alcoholic drinks are more expensive than the alcoholic ones... =.=|||

I ordered Lime juice and it costs RM11 (wtf)... I couldn't drink because I'm driving... Boooo... Anyways, it's a great place to hang out, though... We had a bug couch set to ourselves which feel cozy... :D

I did two cards to enter scrap-n-crop's Valentine Contest... It was fun making cards, it isn't as complicated as scrapbooking... Adding ribbons to the card can transform a plain looking card into wonders... So, enough of babbling and comparisons, let's move on to my cards.

I fugure out that this card doesn't look charming enough... It's a bit defective as I hand-drawn the heart shape... The paper is porous and the ink that I used smeared terribly, a part of the card is torn when I attempted to use the corner rounder.

I had just ordered some stuffs over from scrap-n-crop and e-dorable online store for lovely clear and rubber stamps, as well as ink pads... I really love receiving online stuffs when I got home... It's like a child opening christmas presents...

I bought white opaque pen, typewriter rubber stamp, a background rubber stamp and a few journaling and flowery clear stamps... Aaaa.... My love~

My LOVE-ly Scrapbook project

This is my pilot scrapbook project and it took me a few months to figure out what i wanna do (layout, photos, themes, etc) and getting all materials ready. Scrapbooking is a veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery expensive hobby. A 12" x 12" cost up to RM2 and above. Don't get me started on the clear stamps. The price for the clear stamps and stamp pads are ridiculous!!!

Scrapbooking can be economic if you know how to utilize the materials around you. I used magazine snippets and craftshop's ribbons and embellishments (which cost me half the price of what the scrapbook shops that are selling). I spent approximately RM50 per month for papers ONLY!!! It's pretty expensive but once I've finished a page, it was priceless!!!

It was fun building all these pages... It is challenging when I was planning out the layout... I tested my skills on my bf's page and realize that I've violated RULE#1 of scrapbooking.... DON'T PUT TOO MUCH PICTURES in a page... It is so messy!!! Well, lesson learnt!! Luckily I still manage to save the page from being so disasterous...

Making scrapbook is like making memories into a book and I will definately NOT abandon this hobby EVER!!!! I've dumped a lot of hobbies in the past... For the record, photography is my oldest hobby, apart of taking long naps... Scrapbooking will surely add into that record :D

Lights lit up the gloomy night

This is a very backdate blogpost of mine. I managed to visit I-city, Selangor during Raya holidays in September. I just love all the beautiful LED lights shining softly across a very empty space. It's suprising this place isn't known to many people. Only the locals there know about its existance. So, the entrance fee to this place is RM10 per car. To get there you have to pass through 2 tolls and a dead straight highway. It is very far!!!! Here are some gorgeous pictures of the place~

There are two different Seoul Garden Restaurants in Penang... One is at Sunrise Tower (ala carte style), while the other one is at the lower ground floor of Gurney Plaza (bbq buffet style)... I've been to both but, I personally recommend going to the Sunrise Tower mainly because............

THEY SERVE THE BEST KOREAN FOOD in town!!! SERIOUSLY!!!

Not only the price is reasonable, the food and their service is spectacular!!! They even barbeque for you, if you should order chicken bulgolgi, or any other food that is to be barbequed...

My first attempt to cook

I've been browsing a few blogs for fun reading... Some are really inspiring, while some are really fun to read... Recently, I've been bitten by a cooking bug ever since I started reading Pik Lay's blog... My buddy is really good at cooking and it really fishes out my curiosity to try it out myself...

So, first up... Dinner for today comprises:

1. White Radish soup

2. Stirfried Mengkuang
3. Boiled brocolli with Oyster Sauce
4. Stirfried Chicken with Soy Sauce and Oyster Sauce

The process:

My my my... Cooking is really fun and tiring at the same time... I woke up early to visit the wet market for ingredient shopping, tried slicing the mengkuang and the carrot as thin as I can, cook as calm as possible, fuh... !!! But I'm glad that the food was edible and it tastes yummy!! All thanks to my uncle's recipe for the mengkuang dish, my dad's recipe for white radish soup and my mum for guiding me in the kitchen... :)

Okay, my bf just pointed out to me that I haven't been updating my ~~lovely~~ blog for 1.5 months... :)

I have a habit, which is hard to die... I have a very high expectations of myself... My expectation that i set on myself is sky high till I can't even move foward, worrying that one step foward will kill myself...

Right now, I can't go foward nor go backwards... I can't move right now... I always rely on an external push to force me take a step foward... Sometimes, I manage to persuade myself it's safe to go ahead and enjoy what's out there, but as times go by, I will be back in static mode again...

All I ever wanted is to continue to walk without fear and eventually broke into a never ending run, without turning back nor having short breaks... I want to feel that way again... I used to have that kind of feeling... It was wonderful.......

PCG Teambuilding 2010

We had a PCG teambuilding on 27th May 2010. We started the day with a humid and hot morning walk at Penang's Botanical Garden, and we end it with a scrumptious lunch at Golden Triangle Restaurant in Queensbay...

First up

Sweet and sour tofu...

The tofu had a starchy layer to it and the sauce is really good... It has a garlicy smell to it!!

Fried Grouper with curry

This is sooooo delicious... The fish is fried to protection!! The curry soften the crunchy fish a bit and makes it ideal for chewing...

Coconut Seafood Curry

This is the best curry I've ever tasted!! The curry is so rich!!! No words can describe it...

Belacan Kangkung

Hmmm... This dish would be nice if they added sambal...

Seafood Tomyam

OMG... This is the best tomyam ever!!! Too bad we can only have a small bowl of it... This tomyam is spicy and sour enough to make you ask for more... The tomyam has a hint of coconut milk to it, making the soup rich and smooth... Mmmmm~

Fried Chicken Stir Fried with Chestnut

Hmm.... The sauce is nice but it's lack of solid chicken... Felt like eating fried flour rather than the chicken...

Stir Fried Kailan

It's crunchy and nice. The other dishes really did overshadow this dish... No comment...

At the end of the day, everyone had all their energy drained... The delicious food makes it worse... Everyone was sleepy and full... Most of us went straight home after lunch (not me!! I went back to the office!! Lol)... Overall, the teambuilding was a blast!! Enjoyed every moment of it... Can't wait for the next one!! *smile*

Everyone, meet MooMoo...

This cute lil fella was given by PohDoo, SieLing and ShiuIn on my birthday last year... i find this lil fella darn cute...

Most of the time, it will have its fat butt up and it's face facing down on my bed...

Sometimes, when I don't dispositioned it beside my pillow, this chilli-red moomoo will greet me with its ravishing smile in the morning (Isn't it great to have something smile at you every morning?? Look at it's smile... Wide and nicely curled up~)...

My sisters thought this plushie is weird because of its colour... My bf will dump this poor MooMoo onto a corner of my room whenever he comes to Penang... *speechless*

I somehow liked it... What can I say?

Candlelight Dinner

On a lazy Sunday of mine... I decided to make my favourite dinner, Scallop Porridge...

MmmMmmMm~

It's really simple to make, all thanks to a slow cooker (I loke technology!!!), which is best used to make porridges/soups... I love making Scallop Porridge due to it's salty taste (Yes.. I love salty food)...

So the ingredients:

Rice (of course!!)
1 cube of chicken stock
5-6 scallops
An egg (which to be added when the porridge is cooked)
Fried garlics (additional kick to the porridge)
Sesame oil (this is essential!!!!)

The aroma and the texture of the porridge is so awesome!!!! It's just the way I like it... Not too thick... Not too salty... So, after everything is done... Scoop up an adequate amount of the porridge to your favourite bowl... Add the fried garlics at the center of it to make it more appetizing!!! *drools*

So, what does all this have to do with my blog entry, "My Candlelight Dinner"??? Lol... After my wonderful porridge is done... The electricity in my house went dead... A portion of my housing area seems to suffer from the same situation too (not too bad, eh??)... My family went out for dinner that, leaving me behind with my truly awesome porridge... My mum helped to lit up a candle for me at the dinner table... It truly is my candlelight dinner... I'm alone in the house, having dinner in a dark living room, with only a candle as a source of light... Imagine that!!!

It is romantic, well, if my bf was here... *giggling*... I do enjoy myself eating in this situation, though... However, it really does feels kinda creepy after awhile... Lol...

Coffee at Sticks, Queensbay

I've always wanted to dine at Chilis, Gurney Plaza... But somehow, I didn't get the chance to do so... So, yesterday, me, my bf and my friends decided to dine there... We waited 15-20 minutes for a table for seven... There were so much delay before going into the restaurant...

There are a FEW of them that arrives late and Chilis will not serve incomplete attendees... One of them joining but not going to have dinner with us... Another one didn't realize the outing was today... Another one said that she'll join us after her work... We were "arguing" whether to ask Chilis to give us a table for 10 or 7... It was a bit frustrating because me and my bf were very hungry at that time... We got there early and the rest arrived at 7pm while the actual meeting time was 6pm!!!!!!!!! Gosh...!!! So, insisting that we should go on with a table of 7... We finally got in at 730pm...

So... Set grumbling aside... Let's talk about food... I've heard soooooooooo much about Chilis... All I know is... They serve FINGER LICKING GOOD food... *drools + excited*... I've ordered Cajun Ribeye (10 oz of meat), while my bf ordered Lamb Shanks...

I just loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee the steak... It's so juicy and bloody (I opt for medium well)... Even the side dishes taste sooooooooooooo darn good, especially the mesh potato... It came along with creamy, garlic-y, mouth-savouring sauce... The only complain I have is that my steak is a lil overly cooked... Almost felt like chewing gum... On the other hand... My bf's Lamb Shank's meat texture is so perfect... Tender and juicy... Mmmmmm~

Chilis is a very nice place for dining and great for yamcha session (they serve a variety bottomless drinks for RM8.95)... I just can't get over the food we had... I'm practically drooling over my lappy while blogging this entry...

Out of a sudden, it struck me that I really appreciate to have siblings... I have 2 younger sisters; elder one is stuck in a miserable place called Perlis universiti called Uni$%&, while the youngest one is snoring away at home at this moment...

It's funny that we had nicknames for each other,

Me: The Pigeon

PuiYin: The chicken with the nickname Sparky

SukYin: The turkey

But... Generally, when we are grouped together, we called ourselves "The Chickens"...

(Weird... I know...)

What's nice about having sisters are :
1. They can go shopping with you without feeling bored
2. Gossiping
3. Share clothes :D
4. Bully each other when you feel like it..
5. A pair of ears that listens to you...
6. Remembers your birthday

Being the eldest is not easy... You gotta take care of them (did I??)... Foot the bill... Teach them stuffs that they have trouble with (e.g homeworks, projects), drive them around... etc... etc...

But nevertheless, I love both of my sisters... :D

Lately, been so darn busy and I don't even have the chance to take a nap after work... Sigh... I noticed that I have REM deprived sleep... Seems like my body is working very hard to repair itself while I sleep... Hence, causing my body to be restless even with 8 hours of sleep (I have never had 8 hours of sleep since holiday is over)... I've read it somewhere that REM is what makes us feel refreshed in the morning... I've been sick over the weekends... Felt really weak, heaty and lack of energy... My poor body system is really working damn hard to save me from falling apart over the weekends... Every morning, I woke up feeling like I've just slept less than an hour... Oh, did I mentioned that I woke up everyday feeling like an old lady with bodyaches all over?? The pain goes on from day to night... No joke... And the pain increases everyday... But, one thing that I like about this situation is that I slept immediately after closing my eyes!! I used to have some difficulty to fall asleep... I have to imagine a story to help myself to sleep... Yawn... Blogging about sleeping makes my eyes droopy... Yawn...

Rough week... for a good night sleep

Been experiencing lack of sleep the entire week... yawn... I kickstart this week with no monday blues and enthusiastically do my own work... I feel refreshing every Mon... So, no complains there... Then comes Tuesday... I hate Tuesday!!! I have Tuesday blues... Grrr... I start to feel demotivated for the upcoming Wednesday, Thursday and Friday... To make things worse... My beauty sleep has been disrupted by gastics and dogs!!!!!!! On Tuesday night the stray dogs were fighting among themselves and echos throughout the whole flat... On Wednesday night, one of the dogs kept barking non stop downstairs and yes, it woke me up again!!!!!!!!!! Yesterday was the worse night... A dog hhas been howling for God knows what... Hated why dogs do that... I had a dog before I move to my flat... My old dog likes to howl for a good 10-15mins every morning at 6am!!! Sigh... I just hope there's not any disruption tonight... I want to have some REM sleep!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sleep deprived...

Woohoo... Last post of 2009... Phew.... Final month of the year... My favourite month ever!!! This month is full of events... Trip, Birthday, Christmas and PDC Beach Blast party... I'm feeling lazy to write all the details... Pictures speaks a 1000 words... :D

It's been a difficult year for me... Basically, it's a transition year... From being a student to an adult, who needs to provide for the family... I've met lots of wonderful people throughout this year... They made my working life less torturing and gives me the reason to go to work... Me and my baby has been in LDR for 8 months... Including Jan 2010 would be 9 months... Well, the good news is, we are still together!!! All thanks to Firefly Airline that helps me to travel to KL... Love between us is definately still strong and I believe that we are going to stay that way to the end!!! He's the best gift I've ever had... I do hope that we can proceed to the next stage of life, which is Marriage.. All those Facebook pictures are giving me pressure!!!

The month my real life begins... I started my 1st job on the 6th July... I felt so tiny in the big corporation... What's best of all is, I won't be getting my salary this month!!!! Dang!!! Reason is I entered the company after the pay day's cut off date!!! Darn poor!! And I have to settle my EPF by myself, update my bank book in their stupid website!!! I don't have any idea on my job... No bf by my side... My sis went to uni... Life sucks at this point... :(

August

The month of graduation... Finally something I look foward to... So, I've been busy with hotel booking, where to get the graduation robe, where to gather, bla bla bla... The lists go on... I still don't have my salary yet at this point... My parents have to pay for the hotel fee, which I was supposed to pay... *sobz*... A few weeks before graduation, I was being called to attend a pre-graduation ceremony a day before the actual graduation date... I was called for a special acedemic award!! *grin* I was awarded with a ~~fake~~ gold medal and a RM1.5k cheque!! The top 3 students got rm4k... Lucky ~~bastards~~... My parents are really proud of this... All my hard work in university paid off really well... So, finally, graduation day, 15th August 2009... My course was scheduled to the noon session... BooHoo!!! I have to ask my friends from penang to delay their arrival because my ceremony will only end at 530pm... Aihz... UniMAP is really unfair towards electronic courses... Even those top awards are dominated by Material students, which is our vice chansellor's school...

It's also a month for my baby's birthday!! Lol... He got hired by his current company a week before his birthday... Biggest present ever for him... I've been able to spend some quality time on his big day as well... I missed him soooo much...

September... Nothing much happens this mnth except that I've indulged myself in papercrafting... I've made 10++ papercrafts so far... All taken from http://www.canon.com/c-park... They got a wide collections of papercrafts to make... From easy to advance... The most difficult papercraft I've done is the sea otter, which is made for my friend's birthday... It is a pain in the a**... But it was worth it...

September is the month of loooooooooooong holiday... My baby spent Raya holidays with me at this time... Unfortunately, it's tooooooooooooooo boring to spend it in Penang... There's practically no place to go except shopping malls... So, we went to tourists spots this time... Bukit Bendera, Botanical Gardens... Sigh... We didn't manage to go up to the hill because the queue is too damn long... So, we resort to taking pictures at the bottom hill instead.. Pretending that we are already there... Lol... Today is the very last day of the year 2009... Well, 2009 has been a busy year for me... Full of ups and downs... I would say it's a very difficult year to get through... It's a freakin' transition year for me!!

Let me just summarize the whole 2009:

January

My final semester in UniMAP starts. Things are getting pretty busy for this particular month... Mainly due to Final Year Project we had... Everyone is rushing to finish it so that there's time to compile data for thesis writing. Kiasu-ness and kiasi-ness mood are contagious at this time of the year... Everyone wants to use that stupid machine to extract data... Me and my FYP partner is always in the lab early to book the machine to ourselves... I practically ward off those who wanted to use our tool... Lol... For classes, our Micro-E timetable finally relaxes... Only 1 MEMS lecture, 1 lab and 1 stupid Engineering in Society lecture... And... Best of all, I have only classes on Tuesday and Wednesday morning... Sweetness!!! I can spend most of the week in FYP, some thesis writing and ehem... pakto... :D

Marks the year of Ox in Chinese calender, all Ox babies are stamp with the "VERY BAD YEAR" on our very pathetic life!! I don't believe in this sh*t until I experienced it myslef... It is a very bad year for all of us... Some MNCs are declared bankrupt... People are out of jobs... It affects us who will be graduating this year... Many of us are worried whether we'll be getting a decent job... Some already started to ask their previous host company (intenship) for vacancy... Kiasu-ness is at its max!!!

My FYP has finally completed... No more waking up early to labs for RIE and AFM... Soooo proud of it to finish this early!!! What's left is my stupid thesis... This is a month for laziness... I began to skip lectures (even though there's only 2 lectures to attend)... Sleeping in my hostel, watching anime, surfing the net, play Pet Society, pakto, makan... That was life!!! At night, I will be watching TVB drama while writing my thesis... Compiling results... Trying to make my excel graphs as professional and clear as possible... At this time around... I've been chatting with my roomate till late at night... Laughing, dissing, whispering... So much fun!! My baby on the other hand is getting agitated with his supervisor that kept him calculating ridiculous stuff and made him travel all the way to Jejawi to let him shoot... He sulks all the way through dinner time... Kesian, bb... At this time... Me and my baby argued a lot... Due to the fact that I can't accept the fact that we are going apart... All those harsh realities he explained to me... I just can't bear it... It was difficult for me... Being together for 4 years... Suddenly we might have a long distance relationship... Well, one thing fun about this month is the Prom Night!!! Masquerade theme!!! Me and baby managed to attend it together... I was a blast!!! And it's a month for Malam Anugerah as well... Got onto the stage for the final time shaking hands with Dr.Zaliman!! Awesome dude!!!

Aha... Thesis is ready to be submitted for my lecturer for correction/review... Pre-presentation came along after that... I was shot dead by a Jordanian Master student while I was presenting... I can't answer every single thing he questioned me!!! I do admit that I didn't do my homework, so... All thanks to him... I searched for info on the web...Covering all the areas where external lecturers are likely to question... Thank you, Alladin!!!!! It's that Jordanian master student, trust me!!! So, moving on... We reached the time where students are having bizzare sleeping disorder, emotionally distress, filling their cup with Nescafe coffee... Final exam time!! It was actually quite relaxing for me... I have already strived my max from 1st year... I didn't even bothered to study till the very last minute... I even skipped a few slides that I hate (which came up in the finals... Grrrr)... For the 1st time in my uni life... I practically have difficulty answering finals... Sat in the exam hall blank... Lol... I wasn't even bothered... Lol... My relationship life has gone slightly better... He finally got the idea how to complete his FYP and he had put to rest visiting his supervisor... That really makes him a happier man... My coursemates organized a get-together event in our hostel... BBQ!!! It was fun to cook together, laugh together... Playing Poison ball in our 20s... Taking photos... Ahhh.... It feels so sad that uni life is going to end... I had fun with my malay girl friends... They are really sweet!!! :D

It's a relaxing yet torturing month... Finals are over... There comes the final hurdle... FYP presentation... Guess what!! My FYP presentation was being postponed till 6th May!!! Everyone's gone except my faculty... I sulked a lot... My bf has gone back to KL...

I have to leave Kg. Wai because I have no transport and my hostel had turned into a ghost town... I resort to staying in SinHuai's hostel at Wang Ulu... I don't know what I'll do without her... SinHuai, Ana and Afzan had kept me company throughout this lonely period... There was one time where we went to K.Perlis lab area to steal mangoes... Then, we went to a beautiful seaside to enjoy sunset with our BBQ-ed hotdogs... Such a serene kind of feeling...

So, right after that, it's presentation time... Everyone dressed their best and all are geared up for the big day... Everyone is memorizing their lines and kept refering to the lil notes they made... My heart was pumping hard... When my name was called, I felt as if my legs are turning into Jelly!!! However, once I start to present, I got calmed and just bombared my way through... I can even answered every question asked!!! Thanks to Alladin again!!! My lecturer asked the same question that he asked!! Phew!!! Finally.... A sigh of relief!!! I can finally think of wearing the Mortar hat!!! No more uni life!!! No more lectures that I can ponteng!!! At this point... I'm flaberghasted that I have survived... A Bio student with zero knowledge of elctronics can really graduate with an engineering degree...

It's time for vacation!!! Finally I have the guts to tell my parents that I'm going to KL 2 weeks... My mum, especially was a bit apprehensive... But, she gave me permission anyway... i'm 24 and I've graduated... Besides, once I stared working... I will not have that chance to travel this long ever again!! So, I eagerly wait for my baby to come up to Penang to fetch me to KL... The feeling was sooooo good!! Free as a bird... I really cherished every moment we had... It was the sweetest visit to KL ever... After KL, I was practically sit at home and play computer games from 3pm-3am... I sulk 24/7............. And the fact that I'm going to start work in July makes me sulk deeper...

SALSAS

Today I had planned a "Jalan-jalan Cari Makan" outing with my friends... I chose to have a cozy dinner together at SALSAS in Penang Road...

First impression: SALSA is a very cozy restaurant... They interior design emphasized on warm colours such as yellow and orange curtains, walls painted in red, chairs in black and white, etc... The interior design is really charming and romantic... Great place for couples to hang out....

As for the food... I would rate it a B+ because the food is a bit "blah" to me... The only "hoo-hah" about the food is how they garnish it... As for the price, I would rate it A because I think it's reasonable...

My Set Dinner costs RM40++... I ordered Tenderloin Steak as my main course... I personally love the Asparagus Creme Soup.. It taste soooooooooooooo darn good... I'm actually a soup lover... Lol... As for dessert, they gave Brownies + 3 mixed slices of Kiwi,Mango and Strawberry (stingy.. the slice is barely 1cm thick) + a vanilla ice cream... Brownies is too sweet for my liking... I mixed it with the ice cream to make it easier to swallow... Here are some pictures taken while in SALSAS...

December's Fun

I love December a lot... Mainly because I've been used to having long long holidays when I was a student... It is always a 1 month holiday for us... Primary school, Secondary school, University... All 3 stages of study life have their long break in December... Woohoo!!! Occasionally I have holiday trips too in December!! Best of all, I've spent a few birthdays while having vacation somewhere across the world!! Isn;t it sweet to be a December baby?? Seriously, I have never have a birthday bash in my life, where people go hoo-hah on my birthday... Well, except when I was a 1 year old kid... Hehe... It's alright, though... I'm used to it and I'm grateful that my birthday is in December!!! I have everything I need!!! Muahaha... This year's birthday will be celebrating elsewhere... Wheeee!!! Can't wait!! >_<

Yeah.. I'm a worrywart.. i tend to think in a complicated way... Things used to fall onto my lap but I doubted that I will be having the same luck nowadays..

I tend to think too much and considering many many factors... I hate myself for being like that... The older I am, the more I think... To me, it's really a bad thing... I tend to look things way ahead!!!!! Sigh... Help me out of this!!

I tend to be impatient as well... I like to settle things as fast as I can... The more I wait... The more I think... Hmmm... I thought Sagittarians tend to be open-minded and care free... Seems like Capricorn traits have sinked into me... Bad bad bad habit!!!

I'm back to doing dana... Helps a lot by doing it... My life seems better after doing it... I'm not sure if it's my imagination or something else... *shrugs*

The Road Not Taken

Remember one of the poems featured in our SPM English Literature subject called "The Road Not Taken"? It's a story about the other path that the writer (person or whoever he/she is) did not venture into... He was wondering, if he were to walk along the path that was not taken, what will happen?? Will it change anything his life?? Will it be different from what he's experiencing now?? Will he be as happy as he is now???

If i remembered correctly, the poem is about there was a point in his life where he had to choose between a stable job and a job as a writer... He was wondering, if he were to choose the stable job, he will be having leading a stable life with stable income... He wouldn't have to worry about creating a marketable story/poem to feed himself... Wouldn't have to worry is there anyone appreciate his story/poem... He wouldn't have to worry about how to pay his rent every month... He wouldn't have to worry about anything if he were to take the other road...

In the end... He took the risk and followed his heart... He chose to lead a writer's life... After some years down the road, he did well and became one of the most famous writer in the world!!! Best of all, he enjoyed every moment of it!!! Looking back, he was thankful that he did not take the other road... If he were, he wouldn't be the man he is today...

Moral of the poem???? Listen to your heart and go with it!!!

Fairy tale meh???? Not that easy lo....!!!!!!!!

Have you ever encountered a decision, which is sooooo damn hard to make??? Will you risk your safe zone to do what you really want?? Will you risk your entire future to do achieve something that you dreamed of?? Will you feel apprehensive to take the 1st step considering that, once you've taken that step, you can never go back??? Are you willing to gamble your happiness and give that decision a try???

I'm experiencing those feelings now... I fight with myself every single day!!! Weighing that decision every single day!!!!!!!! Although decision has been made... But I still have doubts over it... Am I selfish to think this way??? I will hurt either "them" or "them" even if I chose "to" and "not to"!!! Time is ticking and that decision's execution is getting nearer and nearer... What I can do is to stay firm to it and wished that I will end up grateful, happy and successful like what that poem expressed...

LDR... Long Distance Relationship... My most difficult hurdle so far... Sometimes, I'm positive about it, thinking everything will be alright... Sometimes I feel really blue about this... I mean really really BLUE... Seeing other couples hanging out together every single day making me really jealous and ask, "Why do we have to endure all this??"... Sigh...

7th November marks our 4th Anniversary together... We've been together for 4 long years, and this year is the hardest yet... I'm working in Penang and he's working in KL.. I really don't know how to make ends meet... 2011 seems so far and blur...

Really don't dare to think about the future right now... Hard to predict and plan at the same time... Sigh... One thing that keeps me going is the taught of going on a holiday together this December... Really looking foward to it...

No visits from him this month... Might have to wait till next month!!!! Argh!!!!!!!!

Whee... I've just celebrated 2 birthdays in 2 weekends... Hmmm... Birthday sounds fun, right?? Well, it does sounds fun for my sisters but it burned RM100 out of my pocket!!! My younger sister's birthday is on 27th Sept while the youngest is on 5th October... I give them RM50 per person... Got me puke a few ml of blood after my paydate le!! Anyway, sisters ma... Kenot kira so much... Lol... That's what the "eldest" is expected to do for siblings... You know what they give for my birthday? A pat on the back and a "Happy Bithday, che!!" wish...

A mooncake costs RM11.50 per piece. Don't you think it's very expensive???? Everything is sooooo expensive nowadays... Blame it on inflation and those nice packaging!!! Oh, blame it on those businessmen that makes money on this too...

It's lucky that I'm not a HUGE fan of mooncakes. I have minimal toleration for sweets.. The 1st few bites is okay... But, after that it feels "geli" or disgusting because it's too darn sweet and creamy!!! Ewww...!! Not the mooncakes fault... It's just me...

Greentea and Pu-er flavoured mooncake... Tea-themed mooncake, I suppose... It's really nice (just for the 1st few bites)... Lol... Not the mooncake's fault!!!

I'm finally back with a new layout. All thanks to Google for coming up with free templates.. Lol.. Well, first off, I'm finally Graduating this coming Saturday!!!!! Whee~~

All the hardwork in UniMAP has finally paid off.. I'm getting my 1st degree scroll.. Yippie!! This week also marks the 1st month working in Ixxxx.. Hehe.. I missed the cut off date and hence, no pay for the month of July.. Sad nia.. I'm really anticipating 20th August!! It's my pay day!! Whoohoo!! I've been so damn poor this month. Sigh... Anyways, My baby just celebrated his birthday in Penang!! Enjoyed having him by my side again.. It's been a month since we've met each other.. Gosh!! I HATE long distance relationship. Miss him soooo much... >_<

He just got a job in KL and I'm proud of him for nailing the interview.. For the past few months, he's getting frustrated due to his jobless condition.. His peers have been telling him that they got themselves a job and it makes him verry worried that he'll stay jobless.. But, I'm glad that his jobless phase is over and he's being happy again!! *wink*

So, before he started working, he took the time to spend his birthday in Penang with me.. He arrived in Penang on 31st July and I treat him a nice dinner at Breeks!!

The Honey Berry sauce is awful.. Eww... It's too sweet and it isn't nice to have it with a cooked chicken.. My fish is really nice.. Healthy and delicious.. Mmm~

So, the day after that, I brought him to buy some famous Penang traditional biscuits at Ghee Hiang. Basically, Ghee Hiang is the pioneer for this business before Him Heang.. I find Him Heang is overrated and expensive!!! Worst of all, their premise doesn't provide any parking space for customers. Lol...

Okay, i think this title is wayyyy too outdated since it's 2009 now. But i still wanna tell u what happen...

2008 is the worst year of all times... and it finished off with a big bang for me... No kidding...
I lost my laptop on the 30th December 2008... Darn it... Very unlucky and careless of me...

How i lost it???

I placed my laptop on the backseat... And i was actually across the street having breakfast... I didn't realize that my laptop was stolen till i was in Gurun Resthouse... Darn it... My mum found out that the her side of the car door won't lock properly... So, my dad went to check it out... There was a in-bumb on the lock... We thought that someone knocked it accidentally at our residential area... My mum suspected something amiss and asked me, "Where's your laptop?"... Gasp!!! I was panicking... No wonder i felt something was missing... I searched the backseat and there's NO LAPTOP!!! Argh!!!

The 1st thing i thought of at the moment is my FYP... Nothing else... This is the 2nd time i nearlly lost it... The 1st was when my internal HD was crashed... I have to re-do my report from scratch!!! Dang... Luckily i made backup this time... Nothing was lost and i don't have to re-do everything...!!!

Sigh... So, after we found out that my laptop was lost, we continue our journey to my hostel to register myself and went straight back to Penang after that... Sigh... What's worse, i'm down with monthly excrutiating pain all the way... Painful and tired.... It really wasn't my day at all... The very next day i was down with flu... DANG!!!!!

I'm really reckless and stupid... Let me list what the stupid thief took...

The Wonders of Penang

It's been great for being able to return to my beloved Penang... The 1st thing i did was.... EAT... Check this ikan bakar out... Yum...

Next day, i went to a spa owned by a friend of mine, Joyce Por... OMG... I can't believe it... One of my friends has become a boss of a spa... I must say, i'm really satisfied with her service... I've never been so relaxed for such a long time... Great massaging skills... Aromatherapy... Ahhh... I really would like to go back again...

The spa service is totally professional and superb relaxation guaranteed... A nice chrysanthemum tea upon arrival and a warm interior designs..

Actually, i don't have the photo of before and after the treatment given by Joyce... It's all in my friend's camera... Joyce is really good in massaging and she has the ability to extract black/white heads efficiently without leaving any red spots on your face... *thumbs up*...

November 2008 hasn't been really friendly to me... lots of things happen this month.. Worse of all... They are all bad, really BAD... Sigh.. Let me List them down for you...

Unfortunate Event #1

Lecturer...

I have just recently finished my 1st half of my final year... as i said before... It was the hardest and busiest semester ever... One of the reasons is a lecturer... A difficult lecturer teaching a difficult subject called Semiconductor Physics...

This lecturer was from a land far far away... Somewhere in the East... He is always in the mood of testing our memory... He purposely left out a variable in a question... When we told him that we cant calculate the answer without that darn variable, he said to us, "No, you should look carefully. You did this before. You should be able to recall. This is to test your memory.". %^$##..!!! Siao eh... he thinks that we are so "geng"... Thinking that we are able to momorize each and every variable that we come across... Siao eh... The last time he did that was in our Test #1... He asked for the 4th diagram of the slide... O.o ?? Which 4th diagram of the slide??

So, after finishing the subject's final paper... I was sooooooooooooo HAPPY... In fact, everyone was happy... Nobody ever wants to be under his teaching ever again... However, my happiness was short-lived... Why?

I was told that he's on of my external examiner for my Final Year Project... Kanasai la... He's in charged of my viva... My mood is from this...

Imagine the horror... Totally dumbstrucked... I have to see you again....????? Urgh..!

Unfortunate Event #1

Internal HDD

I have just lost my internal HDD... All data lost... Worst of all is... My Thesis as well as my FYP presentation slide is inside... Now i have to re-do everything from scratch... Sigh... I was so so sad... it happen on the day i finished my exam... At that time, I was only a few days away from my viva... Walao... Can u imagine me panicking??? I went back to Penang the next day, trying to get help to fix it and extract the data inside... None pre-vailed... And i was stupid enough for not backing it up... All i have is plain raw data from the project...

Short-term solution was install a new HDD... Cost Rm230... Sigh... My old HDD was sent back to Acer to see if they can manage to salvage some data inside... I just got the news few days ago saying that... They are unable to save it... ARGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHH...!!!!

All my important stuffs... Gone...

Unfortunate Event #3

FYP...

I have been busy since day#1 of the semester... Doing FYP really takes up lots of my time... It's really hard to juggle between studies and FYP...

A week ago, my lecturer summon us to him... He told us that our experimental results aren't satisfactory... So, he ask us to re-do the whole process with additional steps... Kanasai... We are currently using the one and only machine available in our school... AFM and RIE... There's only 1 for 100+ students...

Worst machine is AFM... Very user unfriendly and it took at least 15mins to finish scanning a small minute surface... And the results are not even accurate... What makes me get on my nerve is the laser of AFM tends to drift around a lot... Wasting out time to adjust it into position... Mind you, after adjusting the laser position, it takes up 5-10mins for the AFM to be available to scan a surface...

So, total time needed to scan a surface = 30mins...
How many times to read a sample?? 3 times... So, 1 sample= 3 x 30 mins = 90mins...
How many samples altogether?? 8 samples...

Sigh... You do the math... I have to do this everyday from 9am-6pm... Mon-Fri... Sien ar...

I'm currently awaiting for the lecturer's verdict... If he accepts the new method's result... Then, I'm free at last...!!!

If not, there goes the whole cycle again... i'm not putting any high hopes for tomorrow's meeting...

So, after so long... I have finally finished my 1st half of the semester...

i'm really glad that it has come to an end.. this semester is the worst ever...

Dealing with a difficult lecturer, 4 killing subjectas and lost my hard disk... My memories, notes, projects, and especially my thesis... all gone in just one day... and i'm to blame as i did not back it up.. sigh...

So, on the brightside.. I'm going for a nice vacation in December... I'll be spending my birthday there as well... *wink wink*.. I just can't wait to go back home next Saturday.. I've been busy since July... wtf.. I never had time for myself... It's always study, report, miniprojects... Argh... Never been that busy for my life... Soft lines are really begin to show.. especially my eyes... I'm having a bad skin day right now... I look so horrible...

Thinking of holiday makes me happy even though i have to finish up hallf of my report by Friday...
